How RoomLnk works

RoomLnk creates a focused private room for one-to-one conversation. The creator shares a URL or QR code, the invited person joins in a browser with a display name, and both people can talk without exchanging personal phone numbers or social accounts. The free workflow is deliberately temporary rather than a new permanent inbox.

A useful room invitation should identify the purpose, sender, expected response, and expiry. Possession of the link and a familiar display name do not prove identity, so account changes, protected records, payments, emergency matters, and formal decisions should use the organisation’s approved systems.

The six-step room workflow

1. Create a room

Start a free temporary room from the browser. RoomLnk creates a random eight-character room code, private URL, QR code, and a 12-hour expiry for the conversation.

2. Copy the room link

Use the private RoomLnk URL to invite one person. Add a short explanation of the conversation, who sent the link, and when you expect to reply.

3. Share the QR code

Show or download the QR code when sharing in person. Place a clear action label beside printed codes so people understand the destination before scanning.

4. Join by name

Guests enter a display name without creating an account, email address, password, or phone number. A display name organises the room but does not verify identity.

5. Start talking

Messages appear in the private one-to-one room with realtime updates. Keep the exchange focused and move urgent, sensitive, formal, or identity-dependent requests to an approved channel.

6. Let it expire

Free rooms expire after 12 hours and their messages are deleted after expiry. Confirm the outcome and record required business actions elsewhere before the room closes.

Choose the right entry

Temporary room or permanent business link?

Create a free temporary room when one person can send a fresh invitation and the exchange will finish within 12 hours. Before expiry, move any required booking, order, task, support, or project outcome into the system responsible for that record.

Use a business plan when a sign, website, confirmation template, listing, vehicle, package, or reception point needs one stable link or QR code. The permanent entry starts separate customer rooms and adds the listed business management features, but the team must still own monitoring, access, greetings, expiry, history, and handoffs.

In either model, test the complete invitation on common mobile browsers before sharing it widely. Check the label beside the QR code, joining instructions, greeting, monitored hours, expected response, escalation route, and closing message. The best setup makes the room's purpose obvious before a customer enters and gives responders a simple rule for what belongs in chat and what must move elsewhere.

Recheck permanent placements whenever operating hours, ownership, policies, or escalation contacts change. A working QR code can still create a poor experience when the promise around it is out of date.

Does the invited person need to install RoomLnk?

No. The invited person opens the private URL in a supported browser and joins with a display name. They do not need an app, RoomLnk account, email address, or phone number.

What is the difference between a free room and a business link?

A free room is one temporary conversation that expires after 12 hours. A business plan provides a permanent business slug and QR code that customers can reuse to start separate private rooms, alongside listed room-management features.

Can RoomLnk be used for urgent or sensitive requests?
