Common questions
RoomLnk is a browser-based service for private one-to-one chat rooms. Create a room, then share its link or QR code with the person you want to talk to.
No. Guests open the room in a web browser and enter a display name. They do not need to install an app, create an account, or provide a phone number.
A free RoomLnk room lasts for 12 hours. It expires automatically, making it useful for short conversations without a permanent contact channel.
Yes. Business plans provide a permanent business link and QR code that customers can use to start private rooms with the team.
A focused customer channel
RoomLnk sits between a public notice and a permanent personal contact. A sign, confirmation, listing, receipt, handover document, or direct invitation can open a private one-to-one room at the moment someone needs an answer. The invited person joins in a browser with a display name, so a short enquiry does not require another app account or an exchange of phone numbers.
That makes the service useful for practical questions such as arrival directions, product availability, appointment preparation, pickup timing, visitor reception, property enquiries, and routine customer follow-up. The person creating the room or the business team still needs to state who replies, when the room is monitored, and what the customer should do when the request is urgent or outside the channel.
Begin with one clearly bounded conversation rather than replacing every contact channel at once. Review which questions arrive, whether customers reach the right responder, and where a handoff is needed. This gives the team evidence for improving the wording, placement, monitored hours, and internal ownership before the same link or QR code appears in more locations.
RoomLnk works best when the invitation answers four questions before the scan: what the room is for, who will respond, roughly when they respond, and which alternative to use when browser chat is unsuitable. Those details reduce uncertainty for the customer and help staff recognise the boundary of the service they are providing.
A free room supports one active one-to-one conversation, expires after 12 hours, and deletes its messages after expiry. Use it when the exchange can conclude in that window and no required record will be left only in chat.
Every paid plan adds a permanent business link and QR code that customers can reuse to start separate private rooms. Pro and Business also add purpose-specific Open Room entries with customer intake, assignment, and alerts at different capacities.
RoomLnk is not an emergency line, identity check, payment terminal, group chat, or regulated record system. Keep specialist, authenticated, accessible, and urgent contact routes available and move formal outcomes into the systems responsible for them.
